A very Happy New Year pals.. I don't subscribe to the thought that the world will end in 2012, go ahead and make as many plans as possible...

You all make me feel great... Life is just great and I need to tell a lot to you... So hopefully I will be in full spirits to jot down my thoughts and achievements!

This year's resolution falls in line with Oscar Wilde's quotation ..

“To love oneself is the beginning of a life-long romance.”

As this year has begun on a very special note, I need to talk something serious with you.. I need to talk to you about love, not just love, its about Self Love!

When does one stop loving thyself? It might be a bad life, a situation where one ends up being a soft target of bullies, or may be a breakup..

One needs to realise that its a phase where people around are turning you down. And once you are over it, you will feel something like what your drawing teacher did to all those bullies, who made fun of your creative self, for not scoring well in the drawing classes. Well creativity is in-borne, no one can teach you that.. similarly..
..... ehemmm I seem to be drifting away from the topic...

And still you need to know that there is someone who loves you unconditionally.. and that's you, yourself!

It's about Self Love.. Why do we need a lot of people around to celebrate? Why do we have to throw a lavish party post appraisals? And how much of our 'thyselves' is being pampered for that achievement?

As I sit today in the midst of something that is shaping up to be beautiful, I reckon that my life has been an experience.. It has enabled me to lift subtle hints that are thrown towards me.. Hints which indicate what will work and what needs to be kicked-off, what should be celebrated and what ought to be refrained from!

It tells me that something is going in the right direction, and I don't have any doubts about it. I am sure that it will work! Its like, one doesn't find self in the midst of introspection, something is saying that whatever happens will be for the best.

Let this year, be an year of newer achievements and more reasons to celebrate..

Just say what you feel is to be said

Just do what you feel is to be done

Because this is just a phase and it shall pass

And you need all the reasons to celebrate it

And you need all the reasons to know that you are being loved

And you need all the reasons to know that you are special

What matters in life is not the relationships we share with people around us, but the relationship we share with ourselves. How well one is treated completely depends upon how much of you is open to vulnerability. Those who test that waters by repeatedly hitting that spot should be kicked out of your life...

Author's Note:So next time you have a reason to celebrate, don't call over friends, just hop into for a Gol-Gappa treat at Bengali market! I don't know what should I suggest to those who are not in Delhi!

and we two seem to be in love...

and a boat seem to be resting on the moving waters

and there seem to be a night rider sitting on the throttle

and the rider seems to wait for his prey unfazed with our presence

and it seems the rider knows that we are practicing the newly learnt language of love, the language, which needs no words

and the moon seem to be seeping through the dark

and it seems to be standing on our head asserting his presence

and the moon seems to be shining making it too hard for us not to notice him...

and he seems to tell us that he will be our accomplice through the night

and the stars seem to twinkle in consent....

and the vampires of the night seem to be out for hunt

and I seem to be fearless as I am with you...

and we seem to still have a long way to go

I never entertain facebook friend requests by strangers.. But there is no dearth of facebook stalkers and those people who repeatedly send you friend requests despite your declining it... On that note, I just realized that I have some fodder for my blog, leaving you here to read the messages that reach on "Facebook - Message - Other" link (these messages are sent by people who are out of your network, i.e. you don't have any mutual friend)..

Blasts in Mumbai... banking on numbers and spirits!

I do not claim this as a solution, infact I don't really have a solution to it.... All we need are open eyes, ears, senses................. And we shall fight terror!

They call an urgent meeting and start talking about their hush hush analysis, buck passing and how will they share intelligence that a terror attack will not happen again.. The death count is another consideration which highlights the severity of such meetings..

How do they mellow down the effect.. bring in the dead and injured data, news channels will analyse that this attack was less severe from the earlier one! Thats not it.. Lets treat each attack similar, no matter how harsh or naive it went on the mankind...

Coz if we will go by numbers, the blasts carried in Mumbai on July the 13th can be overlooked by our polite home minister. I feel that the fact that blasts happened should be a reason enough for us to stand up and ask for an extended safety shield for each on of us.

I question how can P Chidambram dare say that all Indian cities are vulnerable.... Why could he not add that we will do away with this vulnerability?

Rahul Gadhi said 1% terrorism is acceptable.... Why? Are those 1% not important vote base for them? Infact if I look at India, the people who die during terror attack do not even constitute 1% of population.. So shall we expect more severe attack to substantiate Mr Gandhi's statement?

I do not support killing Kasab.... I never felt pride when Osama Bin Laden was captured and allegedly killed and thrown in the sea, I somehow feel that he is alive in the custody of the Americans. I would also go out of context with Saddam's trail by the US court.. I just did not like it!

I AM AS MUCH DISAPPOINTED AS YOU ALL ARE, I AM AS MUCH HEART BROKEN AS YOU ARE, I ALSO FEEL THAT THOSE WHO DIED WERE KNOWN TO ME, MUST HAVE CROSSED THE WAY WHILE I WAS WALKING, MUSH HAVE PASSED A SMILE WHEN I BADLY NEEDED IT.... MUST HAVE..........

Stepping 27!

I have stepped up the ladder, now I am 27!

I am not gonna grow up, I will remain stubborn, and will keep making weird sounds while you talk, I love to make crazy faces etc for all the coming years!

Thanks for all the wishes, belated advance and on-time.. All of them are cherished and has brought even bigger smile on my face. To make it keyword friendly... I am compelled to write Happy Birthday to me.. Thanks for the Birthday Wishes.. bla bla bla.. credited to the social media workshop held by my organisation, I am all gaa gaa over making me an influential voice as a youth expert, yea I like the word, 'YOUTH EXPERT'! Fashion, style, travel etc all have been explored by my fellow buddies.. So this birthday I take a resolution to be a youth expert blogger!

Last year I wanted my facebook status to read something like, Shine is in a relationship, I know it will bring sleepless nights to many! May be thats why nothing seemingly conceptualized! I did not find a single guy worth dating, which reaffirmed my faith in the saying that that all nice men are taken or gay..

But now its not about the time, its about the right guy! Someone who would just hop on the terrace of my house, manage to cross all the hurdled and locks to reach my room, which is in basement and take me away.. a secret place, a sweet escape, take me away (I love this song)! I wanna be with someone with crazy rockstar attitude, a man not a confused lad!

Since I did not find anyone last year, I plan to take the hunk hunt forward! I am willing to wait till eternity for my man.. People telling me the factors which should be considered while choosing a guy should just take a walk. I know what kinda guy I wanna spend my life with, your versions confuse me!

To end with, note a few things which will for sure bring a smile to you.. if not smile than a loud laugh, nothing less than that!

- Shine stepped out of her house and found a known vendor passing a gesture of appreciation to her, which can easily be translated as eve teasing. It seem that the vendor did not realise that this is the same girl who ends messing up the eve teasers and landing 'em in jail. As soon as the vendor realised that it is Shine, he knew he has been caught and Shine is looking at him with a questioning expression??? After that the vendor never looked up at Shine!

- Shine was traveling in a crowded metro as a security personnel entered with a sniffing dog. Shine is kinda scared of dogs, and this lad stepped on her and practically sitting on Shine's foot. And a gal standing next to Shine was telling shine not to step on dog's tail. And the metro driver was not driving pretty smooth. The moment doors open Shine jumped out of the metro! Gosh that was relief! ppphewww

I am 99.9% sure that I was! The 0.1% can be attributed to doubt.....

Why not use the metal frisker than making your hands run through me.. Its a female, but she can be a homo or a bi! Had this been a man, I would have kicked him flat on ground.

I hitch a ride for metro twice a day and get frisked, twice a day! I am suppose to stand still, lift my arms and adhere to her dictations.. I am being assaulted and I cannot speak up. I thank goodness when they have the frisking instrument of the frisking lady is missing from the spot. But that is rare!

Do we not need frisking guidelines. The way I am being frisked conveys that I am a victim!

This is something that happened outside at the traffic signal of SGTB Khalsa College, North Campus.. Delhi, India.. during 1999 or 2000..

A red Maruti Omni opened its door and pointed blank at a man!. The man got scared and covered his head with his hands.. It was then he realised that he had been pranked. Three people in the car were laughing like anything. And all that man could do was to stare at them till the signal went green.

The car had two teenage girls with their father. The girls' grandpa gifted them a toy gun in the morning and they were playing with the gun, pretending shooting people on the road.

Those two girls were me and my sister. And even today I go bonkers laughing about the incident!

I am so sorry for the agony caused to that man.. But that was fun ;p

'Ifs and Buts'.. India Won

~In the end, winner is the one with the cup.. India Won! Team India Rocks~

I know.. Who said what! Some were pessimist, actually negativity of hard wired in the minds of us, Indians. If not negativity, then a sheer sense of insulting others (in case of match with Pakistan).

In this case I admire Gautam (not Gautam Gambhir) the hero! Gautam is the boy who pained himself with tricolour and sat through each of the match, cheering for the team. Those who have followed the match must have noticed him. After winning the cup, Sachin called him to the dressing room and clicked a picture with Gautam holding the cup. I did my bit by sporting the Indian flag on my T-shirt!

And as promised by me, if India wins I will declare my love to Zaheer Khan. I hereby declare that I Love Zaheer Khan. I have got to tell this to him before he gets married. I love his balling, the way he speaks, his intense expressions and cool composure, his walking, his fielding and his batting. I hope I am not missing on something? Well I am perhaps missing the reality, and that is he is taken. I have sweared that I will never run after taken men. And this hunk is taken.

So what if he is taken. We have better options, namely Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, I hope they aren't taken.

Ok enough of heart talks! The fact is the nation came on streets and celebrated the home coming of the World Cup, after 28 years. In 1983 Kapil Dev got it home.

This time each of the team member contributed. The team has dedicated the cup was to the nation, they say they have won it for Sachin. I am not sad about Sreesanth's performance, perhaps his loose bowling stiffed up the fielders, or the Indian batsmen who had to chase seemingly a little impossible score, and braced themselves from the very start. A round of applause for Gautam Gambhir, who contributed 97 runs for the team.

About Yuvraj's crying a bucketful of tears, I would exult that he has pasted a hard slap on the faces of critics. Yuvraj, you made us proud, and your credentials are all the more appreciated by being conferred the title of 'Man of the Tournament'.

Those unsolicited expert commentators, better shut up. People who are on the ground are the best of you all. Had this not been the case, then the situation must have been otherwise.

No prize for guessing that the entire nation will carry the hangover till the next tournament.

Author's Note: I an against criticisers. True, one lets the best come up when criticised, Yuvraj did. But many must have succumbed to the emotional trauma. It was an emotional upheaval for not just Yuvraj, but the team.

If one has noticed, they all collected on the ground and shed a tear or two.

Happy tears for the achievement, or just a sense of gratification for being able to hit hard the criticisers.

PS: Good times become good memories, and bad times become good lessons.

Optimism pays.. In this case every one's optimism payed.. India won yesterday's world cup semi final match against Pakistan! An easy match does not make it a real game. The fun comes with the hardship to set the target, to chase the score, to stop the ball from skipping the boundary, to witness missing of a critical catch or two! The real game is not an easy win.

To me it doesn't really matters who wins at the end. I prefer sitting through moments of match rich in adrenalin, as it tosses and turns through the day. Easy win does not make it a match. It was not an easy win for India, neither was it an easy loss for Pakistan. Both the contenders were right into the match, pushing through every moment of a jam packed stadium.

I actually watched the entire match after ages. I remember there was a time when I was crazyyyyy about cricket. And man of the match for every match was my crush till the next match :| ;| :) ;) :D ;D ;p

Back then India had (as if I am reading out my diary to grandchildren) a strong bating line up, and the only reason India use to loose was due to loopholes in the fielding and bowling front. Pakistan had always had a strong bowling line up.

I remember Afridi use to be the opening batsman for Pakistan and he was Pakistan's Sehwag. The one who would pick up as many runs and hit fearless shots.

This time, I observed and laud that India has a reliable batting lineup and fielding has commendably improved. Pakistan on the other hand has poor fielding and had succumbed to the task of chasing India's score of 260. Indians managed a score for which Pakistan had to maintain a run rate of approximately 5.

As I reached home, I was glued to the TV set. India played beautifully, please guys lets not get into analysis of whatever... I pity people who say that had this been the case, India would have never won...

The ground reality came at 11 pm, India casted a declarative win and after that I participated in the local street side celebration. Almost everyone was on street, which must have been the case across India. As I was standing on the terrace, I relished a visual and audatory wassail of fireworks and snorting for the team India.

It was like the Diwali time...

All the fancy fireworks were out and I observed street dogs running around in confusion :/

India Pakistan head on!

Before the match.. And a few observations:

Today India and Pakistan will take on each other at World Cup 2011 Semifinal match in Mohali. Whoever wins will secure a place in the finals scheduled for 2nd March 2011. Srilanka won yesterday against New Zealand, and is a formal contender at the finals..

I am positive that India will win~~ India has a track record of beating Pakistan during world cups.. This will be no exception. India is a strong team as it has beated Australia at the quarter finals.

Sport brings foes together.. Dr Manmohan Singh and Pakistan’s counterpart will be seated in the same pavilion.

Locals in Mohali have been giving warm hospitality to guests coming from across the border.

My office pays solidarity to the Indian cricket team, most of us are in Blue and Orange attire. And those who missed are liable to penalty. And we have an evening party.

News all over exclaiming, Indian Muslims pray for Indian team.. Big deal.. huh. Do we actually need to reiterate that those who are Indians will side by their own country. Every Indian is praying for Team India.

This is the time when I realized that I would love to watch sport in stadium.. Anyone with the tickets.? I have been following radio channels to win ticket for the upcoming IPL 4.

I was walking on a calm road. However, it ought to be a busy one, as it is right besides a busy ringroad. But this one is calm, you dont get to hear the honking to rash bus drivers, its rare to spot a car or two. I am amongst the pedestrians who take resort to an evening walk everyday after work.

Do I actually come here for a walk? I often ask myself. I have a strange association with this place. During the day its all green, peaceful and lively. One can just sit around while missing college days! At night its mysterious. Is it really enigmatic or I make it that way? I make stories as I stand beneath a tree I detest looking up as I fear a child will be sitting on the branch and will wave at me. While walking in dark I feel a witch is riding on a broom stick chasing me.

Happy New Year 2011

Everything comes with an expiry term, so did 2010, here comes an account of last year and the resolutions for 2011 etc!

The advent of new years was greeted with being with my maasi, mausaji and my sisters! What were we doing.. well it was all palm reading, chit chatting and discussing life! I tossed off to sleep by 3:30 or so...

Amongst the bestest things happened to me in 2010 was meeting Saumya.. This is the second time when meeting someone for the first time casted a beautiful impression on my mind. The first time was when I met Pari at the hospital when she was born. I remember how much I wanted to have a sister, now we are the self proclaimed power puffed girls! Coming back to Saumya, who ran to me, hugged me and said I love you Shine Didi! I will never forget this meeting, perhaps for the lifetime.

I felt all the more rejuvenated during the last week of 2010. During this time I realised that I wanted a change, everyone does. Don't you feel that monotony kills.. It does, it rots you from inside, hijacks your creativity and keep singing sad song!

Another important facet about 2010 was Diksha's winter visit, I remember all that I was scared of was what if she catches fever.. Her parents will never allow her to visit us again. Thankfully she went back home in the best of health.

Other things that made 2010 special were weekend cycling during the rainy days, listening to music all night long, evening walks and bargaining!

Considering the resolution bit, I resolve to avoid loosers! Thanks everyone, who made me feel important. I will enjoy my singlehood! and do everything possible to make my life all the more better! And yes, not to forget mentioning my lovely blog.. Brace up guys to read some more posts!

On the December 5, 2010, I was at JK Tyre Constitution Club Car Rally!

Cars are necessity these days, but the luxury element associated with it leaves me wondering which one I want. Don't you find a feeling associated with each of the kinds. So what do you like? An SUV, a small compact one, a sleazy limo or a convertible! I am sure we have many novice here! Let me take the opportunity to help you with the task. Also with each of the types of cars, I will share what feeling I associate with it!

CONVERTIBLE

Open roof or closed one, its your choice to either fold the roof or detach it! Some of the renowned convertibles are Ford Mustang, Dodge Avenger and Pontiac Sunfire!

So what is the feeling that comes to my mind, when I think about riding on this one? Its look is dusky, classic and showy!

Dumping all the water sport equipments and accessories. Hitting the road on a high speed, loud music with my girl gang on a sunny morning. Sunbathing and playing volleyball at the beach with my girlfriends, guys can join us at the other end of the net!

There is nothing that can touch a Gypsy off the road! We will take the ride from the archaic leaf springs all round is horribly bumpy and the interiors are utilitarian as well.

The entire discussion about cars is not complete if I don't mention the vintage collection. I love them, wish to possess one!

As I wish to possess one, I had this opportunity to get myself clicked next to this ! Although I don't know which model it is, I would be extermly grateful to someone who cam help me find the name of this model. This exotic beauty brings a feeling of class.

DMRC and the Women's Coach

It came as a blessing in disguise! All the ladies were happy that they will have a comfortable journey. The coach is comparitively less crowded. But, I was particularly upset about a ladies coach, considering that I would not be able to catch a glimpse of hunks around... It was rare to spot a hunk though! As time passed I realised that the ladies coach has more reasons to be upset about.

I started getting use-to the comfort, and finally away from the uncomfortable gaze of those unpleasant men,who find it macho to pass that knowingly unknowing gesture. I remember fighting back, where the entire gamut of men reply, lar ke aayee hai ghar se (she must have fought with her family memebers)! or Kuch to nahi kiya usne madam (he did not do anything, Madam). or the guy hinself shouts maine to kuch nahi kiya, kya kiya maine bolo? (I did not do anything, what did I do? can you tell me?) Yes I do tell them, I reply back, wanting to paste a tight slap on their faces.. Now, women are away from those insensible lot.

But don't assume that girls are good either. Its equally uncomfortable to listen to those aunties and and tolerate those ill-mannered girls, who refuse to move in to accommodate those standing on the platform, keep commenting about thenew generation girl-kind and what not! More so is the tendency to not letting others to deboard, but howling inside the train. No one is willing to leave their seat at the sight of an old lady. Men hoard inside the coach, and when you confront them, they fight back. there is no mechanism to complain about such lot.

And what about the general compartment! The decent men are offended, and the other lot has garnered a licence to misbehave. The moment you get off the train, they try and brush off, as if now that they have been segmented, they have every right to misbehave. If at all a female enters, they start taunting them that they should get into the women coach. Huh!!!

Also about those who were punished to sit-up for some 50 times or so.. That was all the more disgusting act. What makes the authorities to humiliate the violators of law, what can allow them to punish them do such an embarrassing act? OK, so they have got inside the women coach, but then don't we have decent ways to punish, charge fine, or whatever?

Why segment the two genders? Isn't it socially challenging us and a tendency wherein the two equal parts of nature should be sensitised to behave and travel cordially?

Author's Note: Now the authorities are planning to add two more coaches to the trains, lets see how the six coach fare! Also there would be a connectivity between Mandi House and Central secretriat, promising plans but humiliating Crowd Management Strategy... Sigh!

Fake friends... I wonder why do I have many? Perhaps, I come across somebody as help to them, and despite realising that they are fake, I stick around wishing that my belief is wrong or the other person would change. Now I realise that I had been making a mistake, rather a blunder! For some I was important as I was a source of notes for them, some wanted me to extend favour every now and then etc etc...

But why did I turn a cold eye to those minor signs which say that you are being fake?

I realise that I have been bringing disgrace to the concept of friends.What is real friendship? Something that is described aptly in KK's 'Yaaron Dosti bari hi haseen hai...'

So a few words dedicated to all those who are just so special for my friends~

I know I can be silly with my actions, but you mean the world to me.
I might have never told you that you are amongst those whom I love!
Dear friend, thanks for accepting me the way I am.
I hate those irritating things that you do, and I laugh at them thinking about you :), this makes me adore you more than I ever did.
I do take your suggestions seriously and ponder over it!
When I find myself in trouble, I wish you were around.
You teach me to be right, and stand with composure.
I can confide all the silly things I did, without the fear of getting my actions analysed... Sigh

For humanitarian reasons, please spread this message, and save the innocents.

This post is dedicated to all the fellow and aspiring blogger. Through this post I attempt to share how I reach to the blog post ideas. Its not rare that I get up in the middle of night just to scribble a few thoughts that can make an interesting read. Sometimes I post it on my blog and sometimes I do not (perhaps not when it reveals some deepest darkest secrets)...

What are ideas? Especially for a communications personnel, we have to come up with innovative ideas. Adding to this is a blogger's zeal to sound interested to the dedicated stream of readers. Most of the followers/readers of my blog ask how do I come to think of these blog post ideas? This is one of the second most toughest question I come across, the first one is when people ask me to define myself.

I believe that a blogger has to be creative, with an understanding about the concepts. And most importantly have an opinion, biased or unbiased... I as a blogger try to be as objective as possible, but the universal truth remains, each one of us live with spectrum of our own biases, steming from preconceived notions, psychological setup, concerns etc. Opinion develops from thinking. So a blogger has to think, and develop an opinion about the topic.

Moreover, reading helps a lot. It not only helps in developing an instinct for catching ideas but also in understanding the flow of writing. No two people can write the same, the way of expression differs. A blogger should stick to her/his own writing style, rather than copying styles from others... However one should improvise on their own writing style, with newer ideas and way of expressions. Its something like those people who keep changing their attitude to mimic the the group they hang out with or people they wish as their ideal. So while writing a person should stay original and simple. That's what being classic is all about! I believe that anyone can write, its simply putting in words what you really feel :)

Riches and the Poor

So how many of you know about Salman Khan's comment on Mumbai attack on 26/11 2008? What is your opinion on the entire crisis? And the aftermath!

The moment I held newspaper in the morning today, I could relate his statement to something which is highly terrorising and has been instigated by the state. Guess what?

Lemme guess what would cross your mind, Maoists? Naxalites? Attrocities? State turning into Mafia? Land Acquisitions? Upset Tribal society?

No, none of the above, perhaps some of the above can be related to it.. True, when Salman Khan talks about the hype created as the rich were targeted. Attacks on poor is rarely of interest to anyone. Influential people make the world dance to their tunes. Its the poor who are subverted.

Usmanpur flooded! Otherwise the city of Delhi would have been flushed. I can recall, every year such stories grab the headlines during monsoon. The State of Haryana releases water, which leads to flood threat in the capital. But in the meantime some other poor village is flooded to save who? Moreover we have a better argument to support the flooding of small villages. You see Delhi is holding CWG 2010, a big international sports event. Delhi cannot afford to project such a miserable situation, especially after thousands of athletes have backed of due to threat on Security, Health (read Dengue) etc.

So much so drill runs have started on the dedicated lanes in the city roads are being reserved for the tourists. You see to save them from the harrowing traffic that we Delhites encounter everyday.

How many of us? read females come across instances of inappropriate gestures, harrasment from random men. I dont think any of us would be an exception to this. These men belong to each of the segment of society, be it the affluent or the others. They seem to have been thinking that they have all the rights in the world to insult a woman. Behave guys, otherwise soon we will get to learn that a dedicated transporation system has come in place to ferry the tourists.

My point is to begin with the floods, why the city has never considered saving and using this water? Why is it that water shortage news hogs the headlines and why do we always flood the areas where the poor reside. Furthermore, does the government ever compensate the flood victims? I am clueless about it. Save water, makea mechanism to do that, we have this opprotunity now, rather than doing it when we are head on with the crisis.

Second issue is the comment by Salman Khan, I feel he has said the truth. Why did he apologise then? Probably because this byte was given to a Pakistani channel. And BJP did not help but tap this opportunity to strengthen its hindutatva agenda.

CWG 2010, I am really happy that these games are happening in India. It will bring in prosperity and beautification of the city is already visible. But my point is why is it being done to receive the foreigners? Why did the government never think about the capital before? Why is the civil society being taught to behave now? I, as a citizen of the nation, of the city, have to be treated with if not equal, but more respect. Because I am again amongst those who, in the near future would be voting under section 49 (o).

Author's Note: People here criticise, probably that is what I am doing through this post. No one seem to be convinced that CWG could happen in Delhi, around three weeks to go for that. No one could take a democratic remark by an actor, ultimately he had to say sorry. No one heard the villagers, who had their houses flooded! Isn't it cruel and violent?

Rain and Adventure!

An adventure trek, a rain cycling expedition, swings & snails, a true culinary delight, re-living childhood, planning to make it big! All in one.. and that too on a Sunday!!

My long lost and recently found friends (Shesha and Rochana) called, asking if I would accompany for a cycling trip tomorrow. No prize for guessing that I was prompt to agree. Cycling and that too at Bonta (Kamala Nehru Ridge, near North Campus, Delhi) has always been my favourite. Unlike the all concrete Gurgaon, or uncomfortable gaze of Noida people.. My city has diversity of being the classic city and the nature at North Campus invoke a sense of I in me. Despite being born and bought up in Delhi, I still feel that there is so many yet to be explored weekend-getaways I got to visit.

My plans for the trip kept tossing between 'yes I can get up' and 'no I'm too sleepy to get up early', I messaged her with a very heavy heart that I don't think that I will be coming, as getting to sleep that day was tough. But the excitement for the trip kept a mental alarm on me and I was awake by 4:45..... Great I messaged her and fixed meeting at 7.

Adding to the euphoria was a cloudy morning. So thankfully its not going to be too hot to ride. I keep going for these trips and have stumbled quite often. Now I am no more wary of loosing track and falling head on, perhaps, I feel that it is all the more fun to fall while riding a cycle. And I already warned my cycling buddies to not make fun of me if I fall...

Five of us assembled at DU Metro Station by 7:30.. It was raining cats and dogs! We kept our stuff at a safe place and rain did not deter up from taking on the planned adventure trip! We hired cycles from the Metro Station (as economical as Rs. 10 for four hours, do check the breaks).

After exploring bonta, where we met the monkeys, snails, worms among others, we planned to visit Xaviers. As we had two of the alumini with us who were more than eager to reach their school that they sped their cycle often and often waited somewhere on the way for us to reach. But it was me and followed by Shesha who got there first :p!

Then we gorged on Chole Poori and a glass full of Lassi at Bille Di Hatti, Kamla Nagar! After that we headed straight to the destination from where we started, slipping the wheels of our cycles through logged waters.

Back home I realised that it has been really long that I took rides. Got to visit WOW soon! Lets plan guys...

Lizards

The only thing I am fearful of is when I see a Lizard around.. I am not scared of rat, dog, perhaps, even a lion!But when I see a Lizard, what crosses my mind is awful!.

I jump away the moment I see a lizard, as I imagine the lizard's shooting tongue aiming at me.. Like it does to insects. Now in less that a blink of eye, I have been gorged by this small reptile. Awful naa?? No!

Well then read on if you really have the guts of spend time here.

After that lizard becomes huge, hunting for the next prey. Its bigger than I was. Its haunting you now, right?? Well I would not know if it really haunts you or no, but whenever I see a lizard this thought always crosses my mind, and I freak out!

So I think about the concept of fear. What is fear, not the dictionary meaning here... I mean to ask what do you mean by fear. Something like what I explained above.

My belief is that fear is the threat we see from something unknown. I have never been friendly with lizards. But now whenever I come to my sister's room, I don't scare away from their pet Lizzy... Probably my sisters are in good terms with her and she does not seem to be targeting me as a prey. But I know the ones who keep roaming around in my room are no less than a monster!! Eeeeewwwwwwuuuu

When Fever Strikes

Blogger has been really unwell... Last 11 days played a prank on me! Anyways now I am back to my real khadi clad, kajal smudged self :D

This is what happens when one is bed ridden for whatever time.. Initial days, the patient thinks that I will get back to normal in one or two days, its just the weather playing havoc to my health. Friends and relatives call, asking about wellbeng. But hey I am on medication, I should be getting back to sleep, as it is I am already feeling sleepy... ZZZZzzzzz......

After around two days of expecting that the medication will work, the patient here in question i.e. the blogger feels that something isn't right. My face seem to be swollen, and by the end of the day mercury on the thermometer rises to something like 102 / 103 °F.. Huhhh by now the blogger feel that every sound is irritating her and she needs some peace of mind. Whoever enters the room reads this unwritten law to keep silent, to avoid her geting up!

Again an appointment is cracked with the doctor. A family doctor! He likes my name, and probably thats the reason that I dont wish to change my doctor. Each time I visit him, he pays a compliment to me, which helps me feel great during those sickining times. Moreover I have been treated by him for years now, so he probably seem to be knowing my medical history.. (as if I have been too ill for long.. huh)

This is the conversation I had with the Doctor...

Doctor: Hanjii Kapoor Sahab, kaise ho? ( How are you Mr Kapoor? Though it should have been Ms Kapoor, but this is also cool)

Me (well great respect has been bestowed upon me, but still): I am not really well. See my face its swollen, and I have fever too. My head is aching and spinning too..

Doctor: Swollen! Is it swollen? Taking out the Blood Pressure instrument. (I dont think that instrument is made for me, Ignorance in bliss)

Mummy: Yes, her face is swollen, and she has fever too, by night she gets sick.

Doctor (After being reaffirmed by mum): Hmm, and (while touching my forehead) Fever?? Naa, U seem to be cold. (While checking the blood pressure, which read normal).

Me: I do have fever, Im damn sure, just put in that thermometer.

Doctor: Smiling and taking out the thermometer

And as I knew I was in fever, the thermometer read 102 °F, and this was when the doctor's eyes popped out, with his hand reaching my head, telling me, you are cold, but you have fever. This is not good. I will change your prescription, get some tests done.Take whatever for five days and I am sure you will be fine.

I uttered all that thoughts going on in my mind, it is Dengue? I have rashes too, or is it Typhoid? M fever shoots up during the later part of the day? Or is it allergy, see my face is swollen, its possibly due to allergy.

Well call me once you get the report of the tests, was what the doctor said.

Tests, that too blood tests, where a syringe drills into a vein and takes the blood out? Naah, Im not scared of it.. I am pretty ok with it. The reports were fine, so no Dengue (thankfully) or Typhoid (cool). But yes it was allergic reaction, posibl the first severs allergic reaction I have ever had in my life. Dont really know what caused it.

Back home I knew that the moment I will pop a pill, I will fall asleep. And I so much wanted to sleep, with my head spinning like a pendulum.

Some of the characteristics of fever:

Even minor sound makes you get irritated.
Often turn the phone on siklen mode, coz guys I cannot talk, the more I talk the more I feel sick.
I want my mum to be around.
I wanna have coke every now and then, along with whatever sweet.
I develop hatered for the typical meal. It smells wierd, please keep it away from me!
Folks at home dont have to keep coming to me asking how am I feeling. Let me just rest.
I realise that I had been silly for wanting to get sick so that I can stay at home. I could have just took off!

Please locate my Papa!

No no, I am not asking you to locate my Papa!

Its an incident that I witnessed yesternight while shopping for stuff my mum wanted me to bring along while going home. I was late, time was around 8:30 pm. I was heading towards chemist shop. Saw a cute little girl, not more than 2 years old. First glance, and all I thought was cute baby! But hey hang on Shine! What is this cute baby doing all alone at this time in the middle of the pavement. I started noticing her and could sense that she was feeling lost. Her hand movement and gestures were as if she was really scared.

I cannot keep quite. If I feel something is wrong I ask or show or do something, I just don't care if it will lead me in soup. So what if I land up in trouble, I did not do it with a bad intent. I only wanted to help and sort things out.

That's what I did. I held her hand and asked where is your mom?? dad?? What are you doing here all alone??

She was perplexed and said that Papa went out to get the medicine.

Ok.. So do u see our papa at the two medical stores located nearby? I pointed at the medical stores nearby.

No, she said and unknowingly and confused she started walking towards a secluded end. I was sure that she has lost her way. I again held her, and clearly intending not to let her go unless I manage to find her way back home.

I asked, where do you stay?

She replied Ghanta Ghar.

Sigh, its a place known to me. What should I do now, should I call up 100 or call up my dad! I called my dad, network problem! Huh, third attempt and I got through. He picked up, and I told him, Papa there is a little girl and her father is lost somewhere. Come to this place. And then came a quick ok. I am coming, tell me where exactly are you.

The moment I hung up the call, the girl started crying. My papa is lost!

Don't worry we will locate him.

How did you come here?? Were you in a bike? or car?

I was in the car.

Ok! Who all were in the car?

Just me and my papa, she said. And now she held my hand with a belief that I am not going to harm her.

Do you know the number of your car? or your papa's mobile number or home phone number.

No I don't!

Ok, so lets locate the car first. Is that fine??

Yes, she said.

What colour is the car?

White.

Great. By this time I was confused myself. But anyhow. I started moving towards the direction where she was coming from. I asked is your car that side. She said yes!

And I could see a few men on the road, confused and trying to locate something. I wished that there should be her dad. Yeah there he was, upset, nearly about in tears! He might have asked those local shop owners about the girl and they might have told him that she stepped out of the car and went out.

The moment he saw his daughter he was relieved and asked her why did you come out of the car? He looked at me, and thanked. I said that's ok! As I turned back, I was still apprehensive if he is her dad or no. I looked back again and the expressions on his dad's face swanned that he is her dad for sure. He looked at me again and thanked again.

Great... So probably I got late, or I had to get the stuff that my mum asked for probably only to help that girl find her papa.

I called my dad, no need to come, we found her papa :D

Author's Note: I did not speak to her papa, but still he should have never left a child alone in the car! I was thinking why to get judgemental when a person in experiencing an emotional turmoil? This incident might have taught him this lesson. The first thing I did was to call up my mamaji (my mum's brother), who has a 1.5 year old child. It was a lesson that I learned, and just wanted to caution him about it.

Moreover I also noticed that no civilian these days seem to be cautious about the fact that a child is moving around without any care taker, they just want to rush home and dont care if they can be of help. They are more bothered about the soup they may land up in. Well that is what that can be expected of them. One has to fight the threat alone, but can we expect this out of a child?

P.S.: When I told my Mum about the incident. She loaded me with stories of her childhood where she lost her way, my mamaji was about to get kidnapped / lost. I was scared. Its really a big responsibility to take care of a child. We get to read frequently about the plight of people who have lost their child and never found back.

Spoofs & Bribes

With the spoof stories doing the rounds regarding the Common Wealth Games Delhi 2010, my ideals regarding bribes have come out stronger and clearer. Corroborating the fact that bribing is the part and parcel of administrative life, I have a suggestion to make.

But before jumping to suggestions and conclusions, click here, its a worth read and funny!

Now back to bribe scrutiny. I subscribe to the thought that the administrative should not be held completely guilty of taking bribe. Due to the penalisation clause in bribe laws, the administrators have to faithfully complete the task they are being bribed for. Please note I do not completely suggest letting the guilty go without any punishment.

This is what has been mentioned in the book 'A Passage to India' by E M Forster. The author outlines a scenario where he presented a contrast amongst British and Indian office bearers. The British would not do the task even after taking hefty bribes. While Indian, by nature are so faithful that it comes as a moral obligation to do the task. They take bribes, do the task and end up being in soup, pity!

What is important is to change the system in such a manner that anything with or without bribe will function in a specified way! Yes it requires a lot of checks and civil rights awakenings. So what we have the first step on the civil right movements, the RTI, which out fellow legislators have tried to boil down quite a few time but to no avail.

P.S.: We already have lot of courageous people coming in front to employ civil rights for a better, unbiased and bribe free society by fighting the system. We, however, need a set of system, the solution is in putting the pressure on the civil society to know that bribe (or similar illegal instruments) is not going to help.

Birthday!

And this is what happens when you turn an year older!

At the outset I would like to thank for all the wishes on my birthday that falls on 12 July! The day and the following day were amazing and I was out of the reach of virtual world! My apologies to all those who messaged / wrote posts on facebook wall wishing me on the day! Thanks a ton guys!

The day was momentous, my room is on a renovation mode and I was struck in bad weather and traffic late at night! And I will always remember this birthday as a out of home super adventure celebrations!

Now what is it that happens when you turn an year older? Friends sing 'many boy friends to you' and her mum correct her 'no just one husband to her!' Well I am not planning to marry this year itself, but I think I am not meant to be single this year! So the guy hunt is on! Please, for all those who feel that they can come ahead and ask me out do so, but its purely upto my discretion to accept it or no!

My cousin sister tells me to find a guy! According to her Abhay Deol is good and I can go ahead and ask him out! Well how do I find his contact number and she is quick to tell me to dive in the virtual world, call him up and he will not come to Delhi to fight with me! She has just stepped into adolescence but she knows it all. She tells me that check out his lifestyle, attitude, personality, behaviour, family!But for me only three things matter! I would rather keep it to myself than having someone changed to those parameters, probably unconsciously. On my asking her how does she know all these matters, well its all thanks to"Rakhi ka Swayamwar"! Sigh

My other cousin could not stop a wow when she was informed that I cut two chocolate cakes on my birthday :)

What is it that would have made my birthday special. Well its rain, it soothes me! But its after effects (read traffic, mucked up, sludged roads etc) freak me out! 'Any surprise is better than no surprise', this can also make my day.

So what are my resolutions this year? Well I am all fed-up of following resolutions so I resolve the funda of resolution by exclaiming that "I will take life as it comes and be happy!"

Never compromise in lieu of fear. I could have stayed mum and taken all the crap which my boss had been giving to me, for quite sometime and now that it has crossed professional limits, she was suppose to be told to behave herself. I see many people around who keep mum, tolerate unbearable behavior of other's just because they fear loosing their job, gaining a bad name in the organization, bear humiliation and bla bla. To further add to my agony is the behavior of these chicks which fall in the category fo "butter the superiors".

But why not speak out, let the other person know that it is not acceptable for you to give crap to me. And I am so sorry to disappoint those who feel that they have all the rights to utter crap!

How important is ones sense to think? I know its important for everyone to think, as I would be crippled if I was deprived of my ability to think. So what is it that one thinks of? I think about a lot of things and thinking actually braces one with the ability to answer, debate, blog (of course:D). Thoughts can take you to un-imaginable limits, thoughts can motivate you to do what everyone told you is impossible.

My cousin who has just hit the teen age thinks about what her favourite actoress Kareena said while she was drunk in '3 idiots'. She asked me Di what is a Gay? I replied to her that gay is a person who is attracted towards a person of same sex, females are called lesbians and males are called gays. Great I managed to answer a teenager's thought process, and then came question number two, Di what does impotent mean? Impotent is a man who cannot produce kids. Ohh what is it that a man has to do to produce kids? Thats where I was confused as to how to explain to her. But I tried my best to give her a satisfactory answer.

Shine Di: See you know people produce kids after getting married, and not before it! Right?

She gave an expression of consent.

Shine Di: So there is something that a man contributes while a woman have babies.

She said ok.

Sigh! Did I do it well and did I clear her doubt. Well I was satisfied that she said ok, I was rather feeling proud of myself. I just taught a sex education lesson. She thought of something and thought that she can ask me to clear her doubts.

There are many things one think about, some find people to clear doubts about their thought process and some don't. I at times get answers to my thought process on my own or through family, but when I am struck somewhere I don't know if what I think is right of wrong, I feel really feel lost. But then that is what human nature is about, philosophies give rise to hypothesis, which are challenged to give birth to laws.

Who is this "You"?

Of late I am coming to think about a lot of things. Professionally, personally something (read many things) is (read are) not falling in place. I had some plans and seems that I have lost track of those. I had many dreams and cannot recall them back! Gosh I need help!

I am super confused. Is this what I wanted to do when I use to tell people about my relished qualifications and a sense of accomplishment that I got when I received an acknowledging response from aunts and uncles. That sheer recognition took me to square up!

Thats what a quarter life crisis is about and I know that I have fallen right there!

And then I found you! Whenever I feel that I have no one to share it with I turn to you. My cries and smiles, the sorrow and applauds are all listed in you. You are always available for me. The most beautiful creation, my mentor who guides me. This you has many forms and shapes.

I have had many such yous in my life:

Remember that I as child, all the trees in the locality were the you. They use to swing when I spoke to them. I use to talk to them very often.

Then I grew up to find that the stars also listen to me, they twinkle along my songs. Stars became my night pals.

Then I found that my siblings are also the you, since then we have been the best of the buddies.

Then I found that my family was a shell that was a collective you.

My pals held me through thick and thin of life.

My obsession for him has been growing each day. The way he talks, walks and everything about him is irresistible.

So herewith I declare that I am in love, in love like never before. I am in love with Gerard Butler .

So what is it that makes me fall in love with him?

His charming, smiling, sweet, cute face that so aptly makes the pupil of my eye expand. Many of my friends acknowledge that and keep on passing his flicks to me. The recent ones being 'The Bounty Hunter' and '300'. I have fallen in love with him after watching 'PS I Love You', 'The Ugly Truth' and 'Law Abiding Citizen '.

He is the real hunk. There are so many feelings about him which I just don't know how to put in words. So leaving this as a note to declare that I am in LOVE with Mr. Butler~~

Neither a Male nor a Female

The civil society does not acknowledge any sex other than female or male. What if I was an eunuch? The thought crossed my mind when I located an eunuch last night. It crossed a crowded bus stop sporting a salwar kameez, flaunting cleavage and lips smudged with dark brown shade. It did not smile at anybody just looked around with a plastic smile.

Think about it for a while before you read further.

What would you be doing for livelihood?
Would you be knowing about your parents?
Would you be cursing the society?
Would you be happy with the way people treat you?
Wouldn't you want your elder brother to take you for evening ice cream treats?
Wouldn't you want your grand mom to read stories to you?
Wouldn't you wish your mom make your favorite food on your birthday?

You are forced to live a rotten life just because your reproductive organs does not exist or work.

Either at birth or during the puberty years, outsiders will claim right on you and (in most of the cases) force you to join their brigade.

Some of you might be living with your actual parents who have succeeded in either hiding you sexuality or have been fighting with the society for acceptance.
Some are being abused, harassed by the society for something thats not anybody's fault.

I highly endorse that the society should acknowledge the existence of this gender at par with male or female. They are not to be left out, after all they are like us, they fall sick, they too have emotions and a bonding with their loved ones. Let them study, work and move around just as we do.

Author's Note: Not just female gender bias, the society does not accept eunuchs as well. Is it suppose to be just a Man's World?

Ajmal Kasab, Abdul Geelani and The Aamirs!

Ajmal Kasab today has been pronounced guilty of murder, conspiracy and waging a war against the nation. No verdict on his punishment is out as yet.

I am generally against capital punishment. And when I use to read news which read "hang Kasab" I always differed wondering no one has a right to take someone's life. Today morning I differed in my perspective when I read that an 11 year old girl got crippled for life as she was shot on her leg by the terrorist.

The story reads as: Ajmal Kasab and his cohorts may have shaken almost the entire city during those dark days at the end of November in 2008, but a young girl held her nerve and nailed him in court six months later when she identified him as one of the CST attackers. "Kasab should be hanged. When I identified him and narrated the incident to the court, Kasab didn't dare look at me. I do not fear anything and will stand with the prosecution till Kasab is punished," said the girl, who is now 11 years old.

"You can click my photo and show my face in the paper. I don't fear anyone," she said on Saturday. The testimony of the girl, who fell unconscious after being hit by a bullet in her leg, was also among those that were a turning point for Kasab in the trial. Earlier, the Pakistani often appeared cocky and confident in court, but his demeanour changed as survivor after survivor identified him as one of the gunmen. On June 10, 2009, the young girl appeared in crutches in court and identified him from among the three accused. As soon as she pointed him out, Kasab, who was standing for the identification, slumped back into his seat.

The entire story is available here. Now isn't that heinous, scary and leaves one crippled when u think of the girl? Anything that renders someone of their senses, emotional or physical wellbeing and natural ability is disgusting and beyond my ability to put it in words.

I have had my share of apprehensions especially post 'Syed Abdul Rehman Geelani' saga, an innocents being framed up for the Parliament attack in Delhi on December 2001. I thought most of the innocents have been framed up by the cops to cover up their negligence.

Moreover I always believed that generally terrorists are not scared of death. After all they take up such missions in the almighty. They are mostly sure that they will not be caught, and if at all they will; be their plight is not communicated to the people who got introduced them to this nexus.

Here I am also obliged to mention another angle to the terror grid. The one which was showcased in bollywood movie 'Aamir', and Rajeev Khandelwal bagged acclaims for his performance. The movie is set in the backdrop of London bombings and Mumbai based muslim India doctor working in UK plans to return to his family. The radical mafia makes him dance to their tunes, tortures him, keep a tab on him and ultimately makes him to plant a bomb in a bus. I wonder what proceedings would the judicial system take up for the in which an innocent man was framed up to plot a bomb in bus?

Terrorism is easy money for the young. Be it sikh establishments fighting for Khalistaan. Once a friend confessed that he and a few of his fellow surds, on and off are being approached by one such organization, promised good money while initiating such deals very casually on roads. Educated and well to do people might not take up these tasks but anyone who does not see a secure future would fall in such a trap.

This nexus can somehow be related to those poor, illiterate women who have to get into prostitution for financial security. Same goes for those people who take up terrorism for financial security.
